ShopAIflex ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered product discovery platform that indexes products from Shopify stores and helps shoppers find, compare, and purchase products. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website at ShopAIflex.

2. Information We Collect

a) Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and password (stored as a bcrypt hash, never your plain-text password).

b) Search & Browsing Data

We log search queries, result counts, and applied filters to improve search quality and provide autocomplete suggestions. Search logs may be associated with your account if you are signed in, or stored anonymously via a session identifier.

c) Product Interaction Analytics

With your consent, we track the following product interaction events:

• Impressions: which products appeared in your search results.
• Views: which products you clicked through to explore.
• Buy Now Clicks: which products you initiated checkout for.

Each event records: the product identifier, store name/domain, the search query that surfaced it, a session ID, your user ID (if signed in), and a timestamp. This data is shared with the merchant whose product was interacted with, in aggregated form through our Merchant Intelligence Dashboard.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To operate and improve the search and product discovery experience.
• To provide merchants with anonymous and aggregated analytics about product performance (impressions, views, buy-now clicks, unique shoppers).
• To generate AI-powered product comparisons and recommendations.
• To maintain your wishlist and compare list across sessions and devices.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. password reset). We do not send marketing emails without explicit opt-in.

4. Your Consent & Choices

When you first visit ShopAIflex, we display a consent banner asking whether you agree to analytics tracking. You may:

• Accept: product interaction events are tracked as described above.
• Decline: no product interaction events are sent. Core features (search, wishlist, compare) continue to work.

You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, which will re-trigger the consent banner on your next visit.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Merchants who list products on Shopify stores indexed by our platform may access aggregated, anonymised analytics about how shoppers interact with their products. Individual shopper identities are not revealed to merchants.

6. Data Retention

• Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• Search logs are retained for up to 12 months.
• Product interaction events are retained for up to 12 months for analytics purposes.
• You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including bcrypt password hashing, JWT authentication with expiring tokens, HTTPS encryption in transit, and access controls limiting who can query raw analytics data. No system is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data (right to erasure).
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Data portability.
